Performs review and analysis of plans and specifications of proposed construction; meets and confers with applicants for permits; coordinates the review and distribution of plans, and advises inspection personnel and the general public on applicable building code requirements. Bachelor’s Degree in construction, architecture, engineering or related field, plus five years of inspection and/or plan review experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Operates heavy maintenance and construction equipment and assists the work of a crew who constructs, maintains and repairs streets and storm drainage systems. Knowledge of proper equipment used in the repair and maintenance of streets and storm drainage systems. Ability to operate vehicles and equipment such as gradalls, bulldozers, dump trucks, compactors, chip spreaders and loaders as well as assorted hand and pneumatic tools.
