Vela Farms earns City beautification award

Vela Farms, 221 S. Main St., received the Keep Victoria Beautiful Business Beautification Award for the month of July. The award is given monthly to recognize businesses that help to beautify the Victoria community through property upkeep, landscaping and other improvements. The restaurant received a traveling sign to display during July. Shown at the July 6 sign presentation, from left, are Christy Youker, City of Victoria environmental and beautification coordinator; Sara Vela, owner of Vela Farms; Meredith Byrd, KVB Beautification Committee chair; Shannon Longoria, KVB board chair; and Shanna Lopez, KVB board member.
