Goal

The City of Victoria is committed to protecting and serving the city’s employees, citizens, and visitors to our community. Safety is a City core value and is integrated into all business functions. Our primary goal is to ensure that everyone can work and play in a safe and hazard-free environment while continuing to reduce the number of risks every day.

Purpose

The Safety division serves as a resource to all city departments by providing training, education and other effective safety processes to ensure the City of Victoria is a great place to live, work, and visit.

We strive for a workforce that continuously prevents accidents through employee involvement at all levels including:

• Attempting to recognize hazards prior to commencing tasks
• Suggesting ideas to improve safety
• Taking action to reduce or eliminate an unsafe condition
