Victoria Residents are invited to a fun afternoon of family-friendly entertainment and community resources at the Victoria Police Department’s National Night Out Kick-Off Party.
The kickoff will be 3-6 p.m. Sept. 23 at the Children’s Pavilion in Riverside Park, 523 McCright Drive. The celebration will feature entertainment by area youth, food, a foam party, horseback rides, bounce houses and more.
In addition, government agencies, nonprofits and other community organizations will be on hand to provide information about the resources they offer.
National Night Out 2023 will be Oct. 3. Each year, National Night Out is held in communities throughout the country to strengthen police-community relations and heighten community awareness about drug and crime prevention programs.
On National Night Out, residents are invited to host block parties in their neighborhoods or apartment complexes to meet their neighbors and their first responders.
“If you’ve hosted a party before, we’d love to have you back, and if this is your first year to participate, we can help you to host a successful event,” said Officer John Turner.
Residents who would like to host a block party should contact the police department’s Community Engagement Unit at 361-485-3808 or PoliceCEU@victoriatx.gov or register online at www.victoriatx.gov/police.
