[ARCHIVED] Victoria Police Foundation launches Patch Program for health awareness

Two Victoria Police Department patches. One is green and one is red

PHOTO: The Victoria Police Department and the Victoria Police Foundation are selling patches to support monthly health awareness initiatives. The patch sold in January supports glaucoma awareness.

The Victoria Police Department (VPD), in partnership with the Victoria Police Foundation, is pleased to announce the launch of their 2024 Patch Program to support monthly health awareness initiatives throughout the year.

The first week of each month, a new patch will be available for residents to purchase for $10. Proceeds will support future health initiatives and research, as well as the Victoria Police Foundation’s benevolence fund to help residents in need.

Each patch will highlight a different health initiative:

  • January – Glaucoma 
  • February – Heart health
  • March – Kidney health
  • April – Autism
  • May – Mental health
  • May/June – Tourette syndrome
  • June – Scoliosis
  • July – Sarcoma
  • August – Meningitis
  • September – Prostate cancer
  • September – Lymphoma
  • October – Breast cancer
  • November – Diabetes and pancreatic cancer
  • December – Aplastic anemia 

The Patch Program aims to raise public awareness around key health issues impacting the community while demonstrating the department’s commitment to serving and protecting citizens’ overall well-being.

Patches may be purchased while supplies last at the Victoria Police Department headquarters, 306 S. Bridge St., or by emailing vpdpatchprogram@victoriatx.gov.
