The Victoria Public Library will host a public ribbon-cutting ceremony 10 a.m. on Monday March 11, to celebrate the grand opening of the new anytime pick-up locker.
The free event will feature guest speakers from the City and the Victoria Public Library. The ribbon-cutting will be livestreamed on Facebook at City of Victoria, Texas – Government.
Following the ceremony, guests are invited to a meet and greet, where there will be refreshments. Residents will also have the opportunity to learn more about the Friends of the Library volunteer group and renew their library card.
The project is funded by a grant from the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services (Grant # LS-253655-OLS-23) to the Texas State Library and Archives Commission under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act. (2024)
How the pick-up locker works
The new pick-up locker will let residents access the library’s collection any time of the day. Residents will be able to request materials through the library catalog at www.victoriatx.gov/library or by calling 361-485-3301 or emailing vpl@victoriatx.gov. A library staff member will then place the materials in one of the lockers for pickup, and residents can then pick up the materials by scanning their library cards.
