Nearly 900 residents shared their dreams for the Victoria Community Center through the Victoria Community Center & Fairgrounds master plan survey. Now, the consultant is ready to share its findings and gather further input on the future of the community center.
Architectural consultant Populous, Inc., will host an open house 6-7:30 p.m. March 20 at the Victoria Community Center Annex where residents can learn about the results of the survey, get a first look at the master plan and provide their feedback.
The come-and-go meeting will begin with a 20-minute presentation by the consultant. After the presentation, attendees will be able to visit with the project team and the steering committee to discuss the master plan.
About the master plan
The master plan will provide long-range recommendations for event programming and facility improvements at the community center.
The consultant gathered initial input on the plan through a survey that opened Jan. 30 and closed Feb. 18. Respondents expressed interest in a rodeo arena; facility modernizations, including improved technology; and improvements to the Adult Softball Complex, among other upgrades.
What’s next
The consultant will host a second meeting in April to gather final input on the plan.
The plan will be brought to the City Council for adoption in late spring.
