Visitors to the City of Victoria’s disc golf courses can try the sport without having to buy their own equipment thanks to a new disc rental service offered by Explore Victoria.
The rental service is free. Renters must be 18 or older and provide a photo ID and phone number to check out a set of discs.
The set will come with the following:
- 2 driver discs
- 2 midrange discs
- 2 putter discs
The sets will be available to rent inside the Riverside Golf Course Club House, which is open daily 7:30 a.m.-6 p.m.
Residents are allowed to take the set out of Riverside Park to play at different parks within Victoria County.
There are two courses within Riverside Park: Riverside Park Disc Golf Couse and Fox’s Bend Disc Golf Course. There are also courses in Ethel Lee Tracy Park and Patriot Park.
The set must be returned to the Riverside Golf Course Club House within 48 hours.
“One of the most popular outdoor activity in Victoria is disc golf,” said Joel Novosad, director of the City of Victoria Convention & Visitors Bureau. “We want to make the sport as accessible as possible by providing the necessary equipment for those who want to learn the game.”
