As part of the ceremony, the City highlighted the commemorative bricks that were sold by Girl Scout Izzy Drane and her family to raise funds for the park. Each brick is inscribed in honor of a pet. The City and Izzy’s family also unveiled Izzy’s memorial plaque, which pays tribute to her efforts to help fund the dog park. The event featured guest speakers from the City and the Victoria Sales Tax Development Corporation, as well as Izzy’s family. A Dog PAW-ty Parade of Dogs followed the ceremony on the Red Car-PET, and residents were able to enjoy the park with their dogs.
