The Ethel Lee Tracy Park splash pad is open, with a few upgrades that will help to keep things running smoothly.
The splash pad closed last year due to a recirculation system malfunction that was causing problems with keeping the water clean. The malfunction happened in spite of the department’s pre-season testing, which begins each year once the weather is consistently warm and the splash pads can be operated without the risk of cold-weather damage.
To address the problem and prevent future issues, the City of Victoria Parks & Recreation installed a new, more efficient recirculation system, including a larger holding tank. The City also upgraded the splash pad’s chemical controller and UV sanitation systems.

Victoria’s splash pads are activated by a push-button system that turns off when the splash pad is not in use. If the water is not running, residents should press the activator button.
