[ARCHIVED] City seeks input on long-range transportation plan

Move Victoria 2050 logo

The Victoria Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) is encouraging residents to take the Move Victoria 2050 MTP Survey to help with transportation project planning in Victoria.

The Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP) is the MPO’s long-range transportation plan, with a planning horizon of 25 years. The MTP is updated every five years, and it incorporates existing conditions, transportation needs, and community input to create a list of prioritized transportation projects that transportation officials plan to implement over the course of 25 years.

What does the survey include?

Residents who take the survey will be asked to rank the MTP’s focus areas on a scale of 1 to 5 stars, including improving safety and security, improving public transportation and encouraging cycling.

Next, residents will be asked to provide some demographic information about themselves and their primary mode of transportation. The survey also includes an interactive map where residents can point our areas of interest or that need improvement.

Why should residents take the survey?

The MTP is guided by community input, and that input can determine what projects will be implemented in the future. The more public feedback there is, the more tailored the MTP will be to Victoria’s needs.

How can residents take the survey?

Residents can visit www.victoriatx.gov/2050mtp to learn more and participate in the survey.

About the Metropolitan Planning Organization

The Metropolitan Planning Organization makes recommendations for transportation projects in the Victoria area. The MPO includes representatives from the City of Victoria, Victoria County and TxDOT, and it makes recommendations to each of these agencies.
