The City of Victoria has installed a plaque on the entryway sign at the Riverside Park duck pond in honor of the late Nylece Putnam, the original designer of the duck pond. Shown with the plaque, from left, are Assistant City Manager Mike Etienne; City Manager Jesús A. Garza; Nylece Putnam’s husband, Russell Putnam; and Parks & Recreation Assistant Director Steven Gallagher. Russell Putnam and his wife, Ida Williams-Putnam, have also donated benches in memory of Nylece Putnam and Jimmie Joe Williams, Ida Williams-Putnam’s late husband. The benches will be installed at the duck pond in July.
