Recreation coordinator Charisse Cruz said that attendees at the events have included a mix of Queen City residents and visitors coming to enjoy fun and fellowship at the neighborhood park.

Many of them, she said, simply want to see the park being used, and they are grateful for the City’s efforts to reactivate the park by hosting events.

“This event series has demonstrated how a simple gesture like giving away popsicles can build positive engagement and bring people to Queen City Park,” Cruz said. “We are excited about the success of this series, and we will continue to work with our community partners to create opportunities for Queen City residents to come enjoy their park.”
