The City of Victoria and Victoria Northeast Little League hosted a parade in downtown Victoria on Aug. 11 to celebrate the Victoria Northeast Senior League’s World Series run.
The senior league competed this summer in the Senior League Baseball World Series in Easley, South Carolina, after winning the Southwest Region championship. This season marked the first time since 1994 that a team from Victoria has advanced to this level of competition.
“Extraordinary achievements such as this help to put Victoria on the map,” said City Manager Jesús A. Garza. “These young athletes are a credit to their community, and we are honored to be a part of celebrating their hard work.”
The Victoria Police Department participated in the parade, and each of the players received a goodie bag from Discover Victoria, Texas at the event.
