City of Victoria Economic Development Director Danielle Williams recently completed the third year of the Texas Community Development Institute (CDI Texas) leadership program. The CDI program is designed to provide practical, interactive and comprehensive training to meet the needs of economic and community development professionals. Williams attended the course at Lone Star College-System Office in The Woodlands where many attendees learned about different topics, including economic development practices, strategic planning and job training. Instructors from all over the country designed the program curriculum to meet the increasing challenges community developers face in today’s fast-paced society. Williams became the City’s first director of Economic Development in January of 2022. She had previously served as the executive director of the Victoria Main Street Program and as assistant director of Parks & Recreation. She earned her bachelor’s degree in recreation from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor.
