The City of Victoria Development Services is inviting residents to share their input on how federal funds should be spent on local projects and services such as housing, neighborhood revitalization, public improvements and nonprofit support for the next five years.

The City of Victoria receives funding through the federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program for projects and services that benefit low- to moderate-income residents. This year, Development Services will adopt a new five-year Consolidated Plan for the CDBG program.

Unlike the Annual Action Plan, which details specific projects and programs that will be completed in the next year, the Consolidated Plan outlines long-term spending priorities based on residents’ and stakeholders’ overall goals and preferences for the program.

Get involved

Development Services will host come-and-go meetings on the 2025-2029 Consolidated Plan in the Victoria Public Library’s Bronte Room (Meeting Room B) on April 3, 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.-3:30 p.m.

During this time, residents will be able to meet with CDBG staff and learn more about the plan and the CDBG program. Residents will be able to provide feedback and fill out a survey rating their priorities for the program.

Residents can also provide input by filling out the survey that was mailed with their utility bills. Surveys are also available online at www.victoriatx.gov/cdbg-plan. Completed surveys can be mailed to City of Victoria, Development Services Department – CDBG, P.O. Box 1758, Victoria, TX 77902-1758,  dropped off at 700 N. Main St., Suite 129, or emailed to zwendel@victoriatx.gov.

What’s next

Staff will use residents’ feedback to develop a draft version of the 2025-2029 Consolidated Plan, which will be shared for further input during the summer.
