Mayor Duane Crocker has called a special City Council meeting at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 13, to provide a progress report on the work of the subcommittee that was appointed to assess the City’s water system following the July boil-water notice.
“This most recent issue with our water system underscores the urgency of making improvements, and I want to restate my previous comments that our residents deserve better,” said Mayor Duane Crocker. “Our ultimate goal is to provide a comprehensive report regarding recommendations for our City’s water system; in the meantime, we are striving to keep the public updated on the work that has been completed thus far.”
Council and staff have been working collaboratively since the last boil-water notice with the goal of developing recommendations to improve the integrity of the City’s water system. At the Aug. 5 City Council meeting, the mayor noted that staff have already begun implementing some operational changes, such as a more robust testing schedule.
City Council meetings are broadcast live on local cable channels 15 and 115, online at www.victoriatx.gov/tv15 and on YouTube at Victoria Texas Public Meetings.
