Discover Victoria, Texas will host the Annual Texian Rally Tours & Workshop Nov. 12-13 in Victoria, bringing in tourism officials from a 28-county region to learn about heritage tourism and see what the Victoria area has to offer.
The Texian Rally is organized by the Texas Independence Trail Region, which is part of the Texas Historical Commission’s Heritage Trails Program. The Texas Independence Trail Region is a network of 28 southeast Texas counties that are connected to the Texas revolution and colonial period.
“This event is an excellent opportunity to bring visitors to Victoria and to spread the word about heritage tourism in our region,” said Discover Victoria, Texas Destination Marketing Manager Nancy Brittain, who is also a Texas Independence Trail Region board member.
Nov. 12 will feature a tour of downtown Victoria led by Victoria Preservation Inc., highlighting the historic Victoria County courthouse, De Leon Plaza, Fossati’s Delicatessen, St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the Nazareth Convent, along with a trip to the Presidio La Bahia in Goliad.
The full-day workshop Nov. 13 at Power Avenue Warehouse will offer collaborative sessions focused on advocacy, marketing, and sustainable growth in heritage tourism. Speakers will include Discover Victoria, Texas Director Joel Novosad and Victoria natives Spencer Zamora and Lance Catchings.
“This workshop is all about coming together to share ideas, strengthen partnerships, and amplify the impact of our collective work,” said Seneca McAdams, executive director of the Texas Independence Trail Region. “Our communities shine brightest when we collaborate—and the Texian Rally is where that collaboration begins.”
