The Victoria Main Street Program Board of Directors is seeking sponsors to help bring more public art downtown by purchasing dedications of benches and other fixtures.
The board is selling a limited number of sponsorships for the following:
- Lampposts
- Planters
- Heritage benches (to be located at the City Hall courtyard)
- Kaspar benches (to be located elsewhere downtown)
Each of the fixtures will have a plaque inscribed with the sponsor’s dedication.
Proceeds from the sale of sponsorships will be used to fund future public art initiatives in downtown Victoria.
“By sponsoring a bench, planter or lamppost, you not only will add art to the Victoria downtown area, but you will also leave a legacy for yourself or someone you care about,” said Board President Pam Edge.

The sponsorship program was unveiled during “The City of Roses Celebration,” a ticketed social event that was held Sept. 4 at Hause Venue to raise funds for public art initiatives.
Also during the event, the board displayed artwork that was submitted during the board’s recent call for artists. Soon, the board will announce the selected artwork to be displayed in downtown Victoria, and residents will be able to vote on their favorites.
