PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

All applicants must meet the physical requirements in the City of Victoria Job Description for the position for which they are applying.
Applicants for Police Officer Trainee to be sent to the Victoria College Police Academy by the VPD, must meet the Academy’s physical fitness entrance requirements.

Police Officer applicants must successfully complete the VPD physical ability course. The VPD physical ability course consists of an obstacle course that must be completed in 90 seconds which includes a 4 foot and a 6-foot wall; balance beam; hurdles; running, etc. Applicants must also drag an approximately 180-pound dummy.
